Home Compare vs Liquid Web

HostingSimple vs Liquid Web.

Cheaper than us. Here's what you'd be giving up.

Liquid Web is the one host in this comparison that undercuts us at every single tier, and their Thrive rates are not promotional — they are the real monthly numbers. If price is the deciding factor, they win, and the rest of this page is about whether it should be.

The honest version

When Liquid Web is genuinely the right pick.

We want you on the right host — even if that's not us. This is when we'd tell you to stay.

In Liquid Web's
favour

We are 25% more expensive than Liquid Web at one site and 62% more at 25. That is not a rounding difference and no framing makes it disappear. What you are paying for above WP Studio is a single-tenant instance — Liquid Web is multi-tenant at every tier, so above the entry plans these are different products rather than the same product at different prices. Below WP Studio they are genuinely comparable, and Liquid Web is cheaper. Buy theirs.

One site at 20k visits is Liquid Web Spark at $12 against our WP Starter at $15. They are cheaper and the products are comparable at this size — both include staging. If $3/mo is the deciding factor, take Spark.

WP Starter
At 80k visits Spark still covers it at $12; we would put you on WP Pro at $30 for the headroom and Redis. That is two and a half times the price for a workload their entry plan handles. Unless you want the object cache specifically, they are the better buy here.

Agency Starter
15 client sites is Liquid Web Builder at $92, or Agency Starter at $149 with us — 62% more. What the difference buys is a single-tenant instance, 185 GB against their 100 GB, and a white-label portal. If none of those three matter to you, Builder is the right answer and we would rather say so.
When to stay put

Don't switch from Liquid Web if any of these are true.

We'd rather lose a sale than recommend a bad move. If one of these describes you, save your migration energy for a better moment.

Reason 01 · Stay

Price is the deciding factor.

They are cheaper than us at every tier and the gap is widest exactly where agencies live. If the budget is the constraint, this is a short conversation.

Reason 02 · Stay

You're on a 2- or 3-year term.

Those discounts are real — 25% and 33% — and take Builder to $61.67. Nothing we offer competes with a committed multi-year rate. Finish the term.

Reason 03 · Stay

You rely on Cloudflare Enterprise.

Liquid Web bundles Cloudflare Enterprise; we run a standard CDN instead. It is a different trade, and for a buyer who specifically wants that edge network it is a point in their favour.

Migrating from Liquid Web

Pre-migration questions, answered by an engineer.

Real questions we get during pre-sales calls — answered the way we'd answer them on chat.

Are you honestly telling me to use a competitor?

At the entry tiers, yes. Liquid Web Spark is $12 against our $15 for a comparable product. We would rather you found that out here than three days after switching.

So what am I paying more for at the agency tiers?

A single-tenant instance, roughly double the disk, and a white-label portal. Liquid Web is multi-tenant throughout, so above WP Studio you are comparing different products rather than the same one priced differently. Whether that is worth 62% depends entirely on whether isolation matters to your clients.

Is the $12 an introductory rate?

No. That is what makes them a serious competitor rather than a cheap one. Their page defaults to a discounted annual view, but the underlying monthly rate is genuinely $12 and it does not jump at renewal.

What about their 3-year pricing?

It is 33% off, which takes Builder to $61.67 a month. We do not sell multi-year terms and we are not going to match that. If you are willing to commit for three years, they are substantially cheaper.
